hello strangers

for three days now i’ve been listening to the music of these guys :-

having played the “armchair apocrypha” album by that first chap non stop for a whiley, and having trailed the fife coastal resorts of kirkcaldy, leven and st.andrews, i myself had to resort to amazon.co.uk to buy the follow up “noble beast”, and the one before it ”and the mysterious production of eggs”.

before i could devote my full attention to either of these new acquisitions, however, who arrives in anstruther but that second chap “withered hand”, aka dan. we set up all sorts of recording equipment in the a.i.a. hall, hauled out guitars, an accordion, a piano, and by friday tea time i had 5 of his songs, and a cover version, on my 8 track. today i might’ve added some other stuff before mixing it all down into glorious stereo.

we won’t be seeing andrew bird at homegame this year, alas, but you should make every effort to catch withered hand.
