It's the Pictish Trail, here. And i'm a bit dazed. Wow. Away Game blew my mind!
Last weekend, over the 24th and 25th of September 2010, the Hebridean Isle of Eigg played host to our first ever Fence Records Away Game. Over 30 acts from the Fence Collective and beyond performed, across two venues, well into the early-morning hours - for an intimate audience of 300 lucky ticketholders and islanders.
For me, not only was it one of the finest Fence events we've ever put on - but it was probably the best weekend of my life! So much fun. I can't believe it all actually happened!
I've got a list of "thank-yous" that are waaay too mushy and tear/vomit inducing for this part of the website ... so i'll save those for a Bandstand entry later this week, when i've managed to shake off this hangover. However, while i'm here, i would like to thank all the ticketholders, all the musicians, all the helpers & volunteers, and all the people of Eigg for pulling together, and making this such a successful event. I've had a lot of emails coming in this week thanking both Sarah and myself for organising the event - but, truth be told, it could never have been so successful without everybody's co-operation.
Right, i'm starting to get a little misty ... there's *cough* something in my eye ... so i'll sign off just now. But i'll leave you with some pictures of Away Game taken by Takeshi Suga. Takeshi took the picture at the top of this post, and has a full gallery for you to reminisce over on his website ...
If you were at Away Game, and you've got some pictures that you'd like to share, then let us know by putting up a link to them on this thread.
If you missed out on Away Game ... or can't wait to fill you life with more Fence goodness ... then make sure you grab a ticket to our All-Day Hallowe'en Fancy Dress Party, happenening in Glasgow on Sunday 31st October. We'll be revealing the line-up on the website TOMORROW, Friday 1st October!

A bit boring, unless you like scenery. Didn't take any photos til Sunday or so due to being entirely off my mongo. Lots of photos of Colin. He's a legend. Maybe some Milnes too - I love them. Thanks to JL, KC & Gummi for all the driving!
