the idea was to release this version as a double cd (it's been mentioned before on the board)
there will be a cd that fence and good indie stores will giveaway when you buy the new version...but it's er..a bit late
the cd is called 'chorlton and th'earlies' and has 11 tracks
Some indie stores can't afford the account to get warner releases
So i doubt i'll be able to get one, maybe ill order online from piccadily!
Kenny Anderson aka King Creosote rose to prominence through the Fence Collective, a group of musicians based in the North East of Scotland. He quickly gained solo recognition and it was not long before his quirky and witty brand of Scottish folk began to gain plaudits from around the country. He originally released "KC Rules OK" in 2005, and it was one of our albums of the year. Since then KC's stock has risen considerably and he has found himself to be a man very much in demand. To celebrate this, KC, ever the perfectionist, returned to the studio to add some finishing touches and make a great album even better. The newly re-mastered version is absolutely majestic and featuring new versions of "So Forlorn", "Margeurita Red" and "678" looks set to catapult the King to where he belongs – alongside the crème of singer songwriters.
despite my initial scepticism i bought the remasterd KC rules OK today from avalanche - i didnt get a freebie disc even though i asked for it - blank looks from staff - huddle - and then a "we heard someting about that but sorry..."
on first listen it's a lot better than the original version: hangs together better as an album.
the re recorded 678 is especially beautiful - much less anthemic and more introspective.
well worth a tenner of anyone's cash
please can someone tell me how to get the extra disc - ive bought this album 3 times already (once on vinyl)
When Luca said "It's a bit late" I thought he meant that they'd all gone already. So I got on the blower to Raff Trade bloody quick sharp!
Seems he meant "It's a bit late" in the same way that one's homework might be currently unavailable, pending actually being done. Basically, it's not ready yet! There was some mumbling/excuses about artwork.. (Luca, please feel free to jump in here and correct me/slap my sorry ass to the kerb and so on, but here are my assumptions, right or wrong (don't look at me like that!) as they stand.)
So, Pete II, I'd recommend you stand in Avalanche for a week or so, gripping your reciept, until the extra disc arrives.
