Trouble’s Devil Disco Club marks its first anniversary at Edinburgh’s Bongo Club with a live show from soon-to-be-crossover indie-disco stars Silver Columns (Moshi Moshi). We first heard about the duo when their Bronski Beat-styled debut single, Brow Beaten, made it on to the club’s play-list at the tail end of 2009 – a bone fide dance-floor-filling smash, if ever there was one. ‘If Silver Columns do a live tour, we definitely want to book them,’ was the chat at the time among DDC’s resident DJ quartet, a sentiment reinforced when their excellent debut album sampler hit our in-boxes in February and ultimately vindicated when we caught their excellent live show (twice, in fact, at the Great Escape festival in Brighton). If you’ve not heard of Silver Columns already, don’t worry, you’re going to be seeing and hearing a LOT more of them over the next six months: they are already booked to play just about every decent summer festival you can think of, not to mention countless other fine club nights.

We’ve been trying to nail down an appropriate date for a Sliver Columns live show for months, so we’re chuffed to bits to now have them performing at Devil Disco Club’s first birthday party. Get yer sweat-bands out, coz it’s going to be a HOT one and no mistake!
