BREAKING THE SILENCE: eagleowl launch ‘this silent year’

    Meet eagleowl.

Six pals from Edinburgh, who started life as a trio of electric guitar (Bart), double bass (Clarissa) and violin (Malcolm), and who have since expanded to include the illustrious Rob St John on harmonium, Owen (of Two Wings fame) on drums, and Hannah (from Withered Hand) on cello, to create a roaring behemoth capable of sonorous waves of summer warmth and thundering cataclysms of wailing feedback.

Over the course of two EP’s and a 7″ single, they have built up a devoted following with spellbinding live performances and regular collaborations with their pals WoodpigeonBenni Hemm Hemm, and The Pictish Trail.

The band have now completed their debut album, this silent year, which is being officially released on Fence Records on May 13th 2013.

We’re very excited about this album – it’s an absolute beaut. Written and recorded over the course of two years, and co-produced by the band themselves alongside Tommy Perman of FOUND, this is something all Fence fans will enjoy.  We’ll have a full song for you to listen to soon … but in the meantime, check out the trailer above.

There will be copies of the album on sale at GNOMEGAME in April, and then the album will be able to pre-order ahead of it’s official release in May.

To celebrate its release, the band will be holding two album launch shows – one in Edinburgh (10th May) and one in Glasgow (12th May).  Tickets for both of these shows are on sale now!
