We’ve got two announcements for you.
First up, we’d like to announce to the world that the incredible eagleowl are now officially part of the Fence Records roster. We’ve been fans of this bunch for years and years – and have invited them on numerous occasions to perform at our Home Game and Away Game events. If you’ve not heard of ‘em, you’re in for a treat – Bart, Malcolm and Clarissa started life as trio of guitar, double bass and violin, playing what they describe as “lo-fi post folk”. The group have since expanded to include the illustrious Rob St John on harmonium, Owen (of Two Wings / Jesus H Foxx fame) on drums, and Hannah (from Withered Hand) on cello, to create a roaring behemoth capable of sonorous waves of summer warmth and thundering cataclysms of wailing feedback. Their debut album will be out on Fence Records later this year … in the meantime, feast on this video of the band’s performing a 5am sunrise set at Away Game. Everyones’ brains melted.
And now we’re got another announcement. This one is about this years’ Green Man festival – which is taking place at Glanusk Park in Wales over the 17th, 18th and 19th August. There’s going to be a LOT of Fence love going on – with performances from King Creosote & Jon Hopkins, Seamus Fogarty, The Pictish Trail and Withered Hand already announced. We can now reveal that Fence Records will be hosting a special evening on the Friday night, with Rozi Plain and eagleowl …
Fence Records present: Too Late In The Day
at The Cinema Tent, Green Man Festival, Friday night from 8.30pm
Live performances from Rozi Plain + eagleowl
PLUS exclusive Fence archive footage from Forest Of Black + some guest acoustic performances
‘Too Late In The Day’ is the name of an epic song by eagleowl, and we thought it would be the perfect title for an evening of Fence music at our favourite festival, Green Man. We’re really chuffed to be able to showcase our music in this way – with Rozi Plain and eagleowl both performing full band live sets, a few secret acoustic performances from some familiar faces, Papi Falso spinning some sweet music, and our pals at Forest Of Black screening some archive Fence footage.
If you’ve not got a ticket for Green Man already, we suggest you do so PRONTO! http://www.greenman.net/tickets
