We can now announce the line-up for our next Fence Collective bash, taking place at the Oran Mor, in Glasgow, on Sunday June 5th – as part of the city’s West End Festival.
Label bosses King Creosote & The Pictish Trail will be performing a special joint acoustic set – a selection of their own songs, and covers of other Fence favourites, no doubt.
Our latest signings Kid Canaveral will be there to mop up any tears, so as folk won’t slip on the dancefloor, for the closing live set of the night. OnTheFly will be manning the decks straight afterwards, keeping a close eye on Kwaing Creasite‘s 80′s vinyl (at his peril).
Rozi Plain, fresh from launching her new 7″ single ‘Humans’, will be in attendance with a few players in tow – and Dan from Withered Hand will have us singing his Good News along with him.
We’re chuffed to welcome back our old pal Rob St John - alumni of Eagleowl, and a fantastic song-writer in his own right, too. He’s got an album coming out on Song, By Toad Records (Meursault, Inspector Tapehead) later on this year – so keep an eye out for that.
There will also be a full band performance from fellow-Fifer Dan Lyth, an immensely talented singer-songwriter, producer and studio-wizard. He’s currently producing an album of songs recorded entirely outdoors – and what we’ve heard so far is mesmerising. Check out www.DanLyth.com for more info.
