    Haarfest!

*UPDATE* Individual tickets on sale on Tuesday morning (June 22nd 2010). Weekend tickets available now HERE

Fence is happy to announce a new summer festival in Anstruther!

Haarfest runs from Monday 16th to Saturday 21st of August.

There’ll be music from 8pm in the Hew Scott Hall from Monday to Thursday, and in the Cellardyke Town Hall on the Friday and Saturday. The week’s line-up, in rough order of appearance, looks like this :

King Creosote, Lonepigeon, The Earlies (some of), HMS Ginafore, The Oates Field, Inspector Tapehead, Adem, OnTheFly, Seamus Fogarty, The Pictish Trail’s ‘bit of strange’ (recorders at the ready!), Eagleowl, Silver Columns, FOUND, Meursault, Withered Hand, Pip Dylan, Gummi Bako and Kid Canaveral.  Yesss!

Still on the wish list are Smackvan, Reporter, Admiral Fallow and a couple of others.

During the afternoons we’ll be hosting art, craft and song workshops, organised walks and a beach clean, a “potted sports” afternoon PLUS art installations from the Fenceart department (okay, from members of glasgow’s school of art – proper artists) PLUS madcap and largely unexpected appearances by the National Theatre Scotland as part of their Celebrating Fife program PLUS some mindbogglingly techy stuff courtesy of Jon Rogers and his students.  If that’s not enough we hope to show a film or two.  Something for all august weathers.

A full program of events will be made available on arrival.

A week ticket will get you access to everything, and it’ll set you back £50.  Evening tickets are priced at £12.50 per evening show (concessions for under 12s if our licence allows, under 7s free) and workshops priced to cover cost of materials etc.  Tickets go on sale from Monday June 14th in the Fence webshop, the Scottish Fisheries Museum and The Ship Tavern.

(We plan to organise late transport back to the Crail and St. Monans campsites, however, we’re still trying to sort out an Anstruther alternative be it campsite or bunkhouse.)
