James Yorkston & The Pictish Trail: some special Fence shows!

There’s some braw Fence gigs coming up this Autumn/Winter.   If you’re a fan of leaving the house, and you’re also a fan of King Creosote, Kid Canaveral, Rozi Plain, The Shivers and Withered Hand you’re in luck – all of these great Fence acts will be playing live in the coming months.  We’ve also got the Fence’s Flamin’ Hott Loggz line-up to reveal!

But that tour news can wait.  In the meantime we’ve got some news for you about some special shows with Fence Collective members James Yorkston and The Pictish Trail.

NOVEMBER 11TH, THE QUEENS HALL, EDINBURGH

On November 11th (11/11/11!) James Yorkston will take to the stage of the prestigious Queens Hall in Edinburgh.  He’ll be accompanied by band, performing new material, and a bunch of old faves.

Support for this show comes from The Pictish Trail - who will also be performing with a few extra players, and some new songs in tow, too.

If you purchase tickets before September 30th, you can get them for the Early Bird price of £12!

DECEMBER 17TH, JAMES YORKSTON’S CHRISTMAS JAMBOREE, GLASGOW

On December 17th, JY and PT will reunite for a completely different type of show in Glasgow, alongside their Irish chum Lisa O’Neill.  The three played alongside each other at a gig during the Edinburgh Book Festival over the summer – and are now set to come together again for this one-off show, dubbed ‘James Yorkston’s Christmas Jamboree‘.  JY explains the set-up for the show in this special blog for the Fence Bandstand.

The event, in association with our pals at Tracer Trails, will be taking place at Wellington Church Hall, on University Avenue in Glasgow, on Saturday December 17th, with doors opening at 8pm.  Tickets are £9 + booking fee.
