We’re awfy proud to announce that Kid Canaveral are now officially part of the Fence Records stable of thoroughbred talent.
The kids of Kid Canaveral – Kate, David, Rose and Scott – have been close pals of ours for years. Across numerous 7”singles, hand-assembled cassette tape releases, and countless tours up and down the U.K., this four-piece have attracted a loyal fanbase with consistently engaging (and sweaty) performances.
Debut album – SHOUTING At Wildlife – is an absolute indie-pop treat. Twelve songs that showcase their knack for penning catchy A-sides, as well as mastering the art of the slow-burner. Self-released in July 2010, the album was met with wide critical acclaim from both national UK press and the online blogosphere – garnering universal 4* reviews, and deserved comparisons to Teenage Fanclub, The Undertones, The Delgados, and The B-52s.
Now, Fence will be reissuing SHOUTING At Wildlife on 12″ vinyl, packaged with a CD copy – and the first place you’ll be able to buy it will be Home Game 2011 (May 6th – 8th).
A regular fixture at Home Game and headliners of the first Fence Club gig, at The Caves in Edinburgh, Kid C are now about to head off to the legendary South By South West music conference in Austin, Texas. Not only will the band be performing a slew of their own shows, they’ll also be providing backing band duties for Fence Records head-honcho, King Creosote.
In order to help cover their costs of travelling to America, the band are putting on two fundraiser gigs this week, in Glasgow and Edinburgh. You can show them some Fence love at the following locations:
