We’re incredibly chuffed with the news that Diamond Mine, the collaborative album from Fence Records founder King Creosote, and fellow Fence Collective member Jon Hopkins, has been nominated for the 2011 Barclaycard Mercury Prize !
Released earlier this year, on Double Six – an imprint of Domino Records - Diamond Mine has been a huge hit with critics and Fence fans alike. With instrumental moments as affecting as the lyrical, the album consists of newly interpreted obscure delights plucked from 20 years of King Creosote’s treasure chest of a back catalogue. Intended to be heard as a single experience, Diamond Mine produces a near classical suite of emotion ranging from cracked despair to patched-up euphoria.
If you don’t have a copy yet, or if you’d like to share the KC + JoJo love with your friends, then you can buy it on CD, or LP (with download codes) from the Fence Shop!
