Jings! There’s a new album on Fence Records, a beautiful video + a U.K. Tour an’ aw’!

Bearing the catalogue number FNC 812, the latest release on Fence Records is More, by New York City-based duo, The Shivers.  The album was released on 12″ vinyl LP, with a free CD copy tucked away inside, on Monday, September 26th 2011.

SO, WHO ARE THE SHIVERS? The Shivers are a rock-pop group, based out of Queens, New York, comprising the talents of Keith Zarriello (lead vocals, guitar) and Jo Schornikow (vocals, keys/organ). Keith is your typical East Coast American tortured neurotic / love-lorn romantic, and part time estate-agent;  Jo, your typical Australian travelling dreamer, virtuoso keyboard player, and occasional church-organist.  Together, they’ve created one of the most beautifully compelling albums you’re likely to hear all year: MORE.

Want a wee taster before you buy?  Well, it just so happens that the band have completed a video for ‘More’, the title track (and last track) of the album. The song is a remorseful ode to love lost, and suitably the video finds Keith roaming around the fields, through forest and by the sea, trying to rid himself of the memory (and the body!) of his lover, Jo.

STILL need more convincing?  Well, look no further – cos now the duo are coming over to the UK for a short blast of headline shows, and notable supports, with a few gigs in London, Newcastle, Durham, Wigan, Glasgow, Bristol, Reading and Brighton.

Not only that … but we can now officially announce that The Shivers will be playing Fence’s Flamin’ HOTT LOGGZ - an all-day Guy Fawkes event happening on Saturday 5th November, in Anstruther.  We’ve not announced any one else on the line-up yet … so keep your eyes peeled to the Fence Records Facebook page (www.facebook.com/fencerecords) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/fencerecords) for more revelations throughout October!

If you like the grit of The Velvets, the shuffle of The Boss, the pristine sheen of The Strokes and the sass of Leonard Cohen you’ll find plenty to love in The Shivers.
